Console du Studio 116 C du Groupe de Recherche Musicale (GRM), 1967, Paris, France

"This "instrument", measuring more than 3.5 m long and weighing some 600 kg, was part of studio 116 C of the Maison de la Radio and was used by the Musical Research Group (the GRM). Designed at the request of Pierre Schaeffer in 1967, it included a mixing console, a multitrack tape player-recorder, an amplification system and a modular analog synthesizer, programmable by plug-in matrices.

Combined with the Elipson S68 spherical speakers, this set made it possible to mix concrete and synthetic sounds and to carry the work created on tape in order to be able to broadcast it in the concert venue." - (Google translation) https://lnkd.in/ej9P3XcC
