"In the former Winterhude bar "Freundlich + Kompetent" on the ground floor of the Mundsburg Center, club events, concerts, bingo and quiz evenings are held regularly in addition to the bar business.
Started in Winterhude in 2007, the party at Freundlich+Kompetent was never supposed to end - unfortunately, the landlord didn't see it that way, so the operators had to look for new premises at the end of 2014. They found what they were looking for in Hamburger Straße in Barmbek-Süd. At the beginning of 2015, they celebrated a loud comeback, attracting regulars and new customers alike to the brick-adorned location in droves.
A special highlight: admission is always free
Since then, from Monday to Saturday from 6 p.m., you can listen to the musical sounds of national and international bands, artists and DJs while enjoying a cool drink in the sun chair or at the bar. Every Tuesday, long-established musicians and newcomers have the opportunity to perform their own songs at the "Open Stage".
Cosy bar atmosphere
The 20-strong team always strives to offer its guests a homely bar atmosphere that exudes pure holiday feeling with the help of the beach-like interior design. And this despite the fact that you have your drink under a Gothic vault, which is a listed building. But it is precisely this combination that makes the location so charming - it is the perfect symbiosis of beach bar, concert arena and chill-out lounge that makes Freundlich+Kompetent so unique.
Music is not everything
In addition to the abundance of live music, the F+K regularly offers a bingo show by and with the Bingo Gringos, a pub quiz and, of course, a foosball tournament. Jon Roniger and The Good For Nothin’ Band proudly plays all original grease slicked, jazz licked, funk-blues-rock that draws wayward wanderers from the streets and pulls them to the dance floor. In the six years since the band’s inception, they boast a host of local residencies on the highly competitive New Orleans music scene. The band consists of Jon Roniger (singer/songwriter, guitar), Brendan Michael Bull (drums), Bob Kling (bass), Jake Gold (keys), Ellis Seiberling (trombone) and Raphael Zimmerman (trumpetl). For 200+ shows a year, Jon Roniger and The Good For Nothin’ Band tour nationally and internationally. Maniac World, their first LP garnered rave reviews; New Orleans based five piece The Good for Nothin’ Band practically crackle with chops on each cut.
