"The tour also includes a stop on March 17, 2026 in Porto Alegre/RS (D.R.I. only), at Ocidente, and continues on March 19th to Curitiba/PR, at Tork n’ Roll. On March 20th, they play in Rio de Janeiro/RJ, at Circo Voador, and on March 21st in Belo Horizonte/MG, at Mister Rock. The ‘dirty and rotten imbeciles’ return to Brazil with a robust setlist, full of classics forged in 41 years as a band. D.R.I. was born as a garage band in Texas in 1982 playing fast and aggressive hardcore punk, inspired by bands like Black Flag and Minor Threat. Their first release dates back to 1983, the demo “Dirty Rotten EP”, with 22 songs in just 18 minutes. The material was later re-released as "Dirty Rotten LP," one of the fastest and most intense albums of the time, and here heavier riffs appear, bringing hardcore closer to thrash metal. D.R.I.'s trademark, the amalgamation of hardcore and metal, was definitively established in 1985 when the band moved to San Francisco, in the Bay Area, the birthplace of thrash metal. The album Dealing With It! marked the turning point: still punk, but with heavier guitars and complex structures. And the peak and success of this style is with the album Thrash Zone (1989), considered D.R.I.'s most popular, with tracks played on various editions and for years on MTV Headbangers Ball. The recent lineup includes founding member Kurt Brecht (vocals), Spike Cassidy, the band's only guitarist throughout their discography, Greg Orr (bass, known for playing in the legendary Californian crossover/thrash band Attitude Adjustment, active since the 80s and equally pioneering in the style) and Danny Walker (drums, with stints in Exhumed, Intronaut and Jesu). Ratos de Porão, the Crossover Icon in the Tropics Ratos de Porão is tireless, touring throughout Brazil and Latin America, and its relationship with crossover is historic, considered the greatest Latin American representative of the style. The band was formed a year before D.R.I., in November 1981, during the explosion of the São Paulo punk movement. Their first album, Crucificados pelo Sistema (Crucified by the System), was released in 1984 and featured songs that became instant hits such as Crucificados itself, Agressão Repressão (Aggression, Repression), and Morrer (To Die). From the second half of the 1980s onwards, influenced by bands like D.R.I., Suicidal Tendencies, and Corrosion of Conformity, Ratos began to incorporate heavy riffs, solos, and the feel of thrash metal. This was crystallized in albums like Descanse em Paz (1986), Brasil (1989), already completely crossover, with international production and socially impactful lyrics, and Anarkophobia (1991), recorded in Berlin, is one of the most respected crossover albums in the world." - https://roadiecrew.com/events/d-r-i-ratos-de-porao-belo-horizonte-mg/ --- 📍 Location: https://guitars4rl-map.blogspot.com/ 🔗 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/the-sound-travels/ Enjoyed the video?
