Seven years ago, Blackberry Smoke debuted in Brazil, performing in Curitiba, Porto Alegre, and São Paulo. Now they're keeping those three cities and adding another: Belo Horizonte.
The shows are happening this week. See dates and locations:
— April 8th (Wednesday): Porto Alegre (Urb Stage)
— April 10th (Friday): Belo Horizonte (Mister Rock)
— April 11th (Saturday): São Paulo (Audio)
— April 12th (Sunday): Curitiba (Tork n’ Roll)
Despite the pandemic, the death of Brit Turner, and other events that impacted the perception of time, Charlie Starr says he remembers the warm reception in 2019 very well and can't wait to repeat the experience:
"Well, I hope to have a lot of fun. Judging by my experience last time… You said it was seven years ago? I haven't forgotten, it was incredible." So I think we're really looking forward to it. I remember the excitement of the audience, first of all. Because we didn't know what to expect, or I didn't know, last time. Being our first visit, I was impressed by the fact that people knew the lyrics to all the songs and were singing so loudly. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.”
At the time, Blackberry Smoke was promoting the album Find a Light (2018). Now, the band is on the road celebrating 25 years of history, which will result in a more comprehensive setlist, according to Charlie.
Given its importance in the group's catalog, The Whippoorwill will certainly be the most featured album. It includes classics like "Pretty Little Lie," "One Horse Town," and "Ain't Much Left of Me." However, the repertoire will be vast and complete, worthy of the recently released Rattle, Ramble & Roll: The Best of Blackberry Smoke – Volume One (2025), their first compilation album.
Charlie comments:
"Well, this is our 25th anniversary. So we'll probably play a wider selection of material because we're kind of celebrating everything. You know, last time we were touring a specific album, you could say.
